History

Our foundation, established in 2001, began its journey in Daalwijkerdreef, Amsterdam. It was here that the Asamai Mandir first planted its roots. As we evolved and expanded, we found a new home in the beautiful city of Zaandam in early 2016. Now, the Asamai Mandir stands as a vibrant beacon of community and connection, ensuring that no one, be it young or elderly, feels alone.

The foundation, initially started by a few Afghan Hindus, has grown to include a dedicated area for prayer, langar hall and a party hall within its premises. The initial idea was to create a place for meeting and mutual support, a place where people can freely practice and celebrate their culture and faith together. Over the years, we've strived to maintain this spirit of camaraderie and cultural exchange, making the Asamai Mandir not just a temple, but a home for our community.
